I don´t like you´re 3 bet vs a guy who seems to be on the nitty side.
Do you think he is calling with AT? Or like Gpone Doe said turning a middle Hand in a bluff in a 3 bet pot?

I would give him as a default AJ-AQ 99-JJ

maybe my range is to narrow, but with any reads that Villian could do so I would fold.
He could also easily slowplay AA KK if we add QQ to his range.

Anybody have any great tips to get out of a rut? I just can't find the motivation to get some hands in. Every time I do sit down to play for a while, I just run bad for a bit, then finally get some kind of gross beat and give up for the day. I'm not complaining about running a little bad. I know I just need to play through it. But I just want ideas to make myself feel like playing.

I would think if he flopped the set, he would check and two pair is out there if he called with some suited connecters, but maybe less so. You have around 30% equity with your draw + overs vs ATC, but I see his range here 22+, Ax and some KQ/KJ action maybe. I think your overcards are live.

I would have just called and maybe jammed the turn if checked to or if your draw hit, but I do not think shoving is *that* bad as you have some fold eq here as well.

i think the point is i had equity and good odds. i dont really need fold equity because i have a ton of expressed equity until i turn my draw into a total bluff here. thanks for your input! i like your thinking here!

my handreading ability went up like 10000% after i watched DeathDonkey's "Mano a Mule" series and started playing HULHE seriously. i think you might be one of the micro 6max NL grinders, but this is what worked for me. 1000% maybe not 10000%
it might work for HUNL too i dunno. but my hand reading ability gained from HULHE has translated VERY well to 6max and FR LHE, also to NL a decent amount, and even a bit to PLO (a much more different game and one in which i'm a HUGE fish)

now i'm saying i can hand read. i'm not saying i know what to do even if i can see my opponents cards face up (sometimes i feel like i can, and i still play the hand with my head up my ass, and sure enough, villain turns up XY the exact hand i put him on, and i ship him my chips)

disclaimer: i don't play rush and i don't play FR.

i would 3bet pf to get value from JJ+ and AK. keep in mind 166 hands is a small sample size, especially for considering a position-based stat such as UTG open. as played, yes, vbet the river to get value from worse PP. and the sizing seems right too.

I think it's fine to call as (based on your read) he's going to have air here a lot of the time. But getting it in pre here is still 100 times better because he can often turn up with total garbage that actually hit the board

The shallower the stacks become, the faster you want to play your hand.

You're play is probably +ev given reads, doesn't mean it's the most profitable in the long run.

variance is higher in turbos, but you can play more per hour possibly making your hourly higher if you have a good understanding of ICM, your push fold game is good and the variance doesn't tilt you.

I'm aware of that. Some of that though is because you are in EP more often in FR though. Do BB vs CO 3 bet ranges change that much?

Villain was in HJ so BB should be less likely to 3b but a common mistake in these spots is that BB treats HJ like CO, or the HJ treats his position as if he were in the CO (HJ plays looser than MP in 6max).

In general people have much more polarized 3bet ranges and villain isn't even 100% likely to 3-bet AQs here.

Without any kind of reads though I definitely think folding preflop is the best play. Even in a shorthanded game, CO v BTN vs BB id fold.

I'm definitely raising this flop 100% of the time - if you're going to take a more passive line like this, then do it on dry dry dry boards. Getting it in on the flop will save you the gross spot you're in when a horror card like the 7d turns.

Not a lot of responses to this question unfortunately. I'm by no means an expert, I would actually like to see a general strategy powerpoint presentatin done by this site. However, I think in the early stages of a MTT, your best strategy is a good cash game strategy. There are a few key differences. I try to avoid coinflips early. I only 3 bet for value. I don't float c-bets nearly as often. I'm more likely to to get all my money in with TPTK early in a MTT than a Cash game. I'm more inclined to limp pocket pairs from early and middle position. I don't play suited connectors out of position. So there are some differences, but your playing more cash game type opening hands rather than SNG opening hands. Also I'm more likely to call Ak or AQ from the blinds rather than 3-bet with them. If there is a raiser and a caller though I'm probably 3 betting the AK hand.
